LOG IN / REGISTER Cumbrian sculptor Shawn Williamson is giving 5 lucky winners the chance to own one of his beautiful pieces inspired by the native Lake District Herdwick Ram. The passion Shawn feels for nature is apparent in his work. Often using the more unusual stones found in Cumbria, such as Carboniferous Limestone, Shap Granite and Kirkstone Slate. Much of Shawn's carving is done directly into the stone. A deep connection to the spiritual landscape and creatures who live there are translated into his pieces, all of which are made of one solid piece of stone feel as though there is something hidden right at the core, the soul of the piece. In 2007 Shawn carved a 12 ton Herdwick Sheep that stands proudly at the entrance to the Lakeland Livestock Centre in Cockermouth. Don’t worry this weeks prize is not that large!
